Abstract EN

This study attempts to explain the pragmatic aspects in Imam Ali bin Al-Hussein's sermons to his friends and other people on Fridays through the analysis of speech acts.

through the employment of speech acts, sermons participate in achieving understanding, explaining, and communication between the speaker and the hearer.

the study has achieved a number of results, most importantly is that it proves that the old text is applicable to the theory of speech acts.

this, in turn, proves the validity of this theory which is the core stone of pragmatic and linguistic studies.

it also stated that speech acts are not randomly mentioned in the text studied, but intentionally employed to convince, affect, interact, change, and support the main issue.
