In Western societies, the Iraqi immigrant poet is regarded as distinct and significant.

as a result, the immigrant's perspective on society and the place of emigration differed, as did the perspective of western origin societies; the immigrant may be hostile to or isolated from that society, or he may be in harmony with it.

on the other hand, society may accept the immigrant as a person carrying a different culture that enriches the original culture with new sources of information and experiences, or it may refuse to preserve his customs and traditions.

the value of human identity in Arab society is enhanced by its relationship to place; because he suffers from the dominance of the collective entity over him, and that any forced or voluntary changes to spatial space may result in a splitting that prevents identity stability.

in this study, we examine the failure of the prevailing pattern of critical studies, which accepts the statement that the Iraqi poet clings to his original identity.

because of his pride in it and his desire to preserve and adhere to it against the erasure factors that can be produced by alienation, and breaking the pattern does not mean questioning the contemporary Iraqi poet's love or belonging to his homeland, but rather shedding light on some of the changes that have occurred as a result, he preferred the place of exile over the place of origin.
