Abstract EN

The objective of this study was to investigate the relationship between marital support and psychological security among pregnant women in Riyadh city, identify the relationship between pressures of life and psychological security among pregnant women in Riyadh city, find the role of marital support in the relationship between the pressures of life and psychological security among pregnant women, and identify the level of psychological security with knowledge of both marital support and life pressures among pregnant women in Riyadh city, by using a descriptive correlative method, and the study population consisted of all pregnant women, who attending clinics of obstetrics and gynecology in the private hospitals in Riyadh.

the sample was (424) pregnant women, whose ages ranged from less than 25 to over forty, the marital support scale was applied (prepared by al-Atwi 2014), the scale of life pressures of pregnant women (prepared by the researcher), and the scale of psychological security (prepared by Shakir 2005).

among the results of the study: there is a statistically significant positive correlation between the marital support and psychological security among the sample members of pregnant women, and the existence of a statistically significant negative correlation between the pressures of life and psychological security among the sample members of pregnant women, there is a statistically significant relationship between the pressures of life and psychological security among pregnant women in Riyadh city after the statistical isolation of the grades of marital support.

the results also show that marital support predicts the psychological security among pregnant women.
