Abstract EN

The research aimed to identify the differences in marital distress among graduate students at the faculty of education, Fayoum university in the light of some social variables (the number of years of marriage, the presence or absence of children, the educational level of the other party, and the method of marriage).

to verify this, the marital distress scale was applied (prepared by researchers).

on a sample of (270) postgraduate students.

the results showed that there were no statistically significant differences in the total degree of marital distress due to (the number of years of marriage, the presence or absence of children, the method of marriage); while there are statistically significant differences in the total degree of marital distress due to the variable of the educational level of the other party, and the differences between the intermediate qualification and postgraduate studies were at the level of significance (0.05) in the direction of the intermediate qualification, and between the university qualification and postgraduate studies at the level of significance (0.01) in the direction of the qualification undergraduate.
