Abstract EN

This paper aimed to identify the historical development of Gaza city through consecutive historical and political periods.

the study deals with the internal structure of the city by employing various educational, occupational, and demographic data.

researchers used descriptive and historical methods to study Gaza’s historical development and to analyze similarities and differences between its statistical areas using the factor analysis technique.

researchers also obtained 2017 data from the Palestinian bureau of statistics.

results revealed that Gaza’s internal structure is composed of three factors, which explained 93% of its internal dynamics.

these factors are a low educational and occupational factor; the second factor is a high educational and occupational factor, and the third one is professional labor in agriculture and fishing.

the study has revealed that Gaza went through several different historical periods of stability and came under occupations.

finally, it has been facing an Israeli siege since 2007 until the present.

Gaza’s internal structure is close to the model of an Islamic city and is far from being closer to American, European, African, Latin American, and far eastern Asian models.
