Abstract EN

It is commonplace to state that Algeria is one of the Arab portions which has received for a long period of time endless waves of immigrants since the fall of the major Andalusian cities by the Christian Colonizer and the deterioration that marked that era, more specifically after the battle of “Ukab” which is considered as a turning point that marked the end of the Islamic presence in Andalusia.

Most of displaced people were left with no other option but to move and settle down in cities in west Algeria such as Telemcen, Mostaganem and Oran; however others preferred to settle in the eastern part of Algeria like Constantine, Annaba and Bejaia.

the present research paper seeks to cast light on “Bejaia” as being one of the remarkable cities that was at the Centre of various notable events and which gave birth to great minds, scholars and historians and which was founded by one of the notable kings of Bani Hammad Ben Ziri, known as al Nassir Ben Alnas.
