Abstract EN

The relationship between Spain and ottoman Algeria during the 16th century was mainly built on convading the western basin of the Mediterranean sea and it was particularly affected by the falling of Granada 1492 ad, and all the events that followed it (compulsory baptism, the expulsion of Muslims from the Iberian peninsula).

through this research, we aim to shed light on how the major events of the Moriscos issue have echoed on the relationship between Spain and Algeria.

secondly, our research is also concerned by studying the ottoman authority response towards these events and also their impact on the ottoman Spanish relationship in general.
