Abstract EN

The current study aims to reveal the obstacles to women's assumption of leadership positions in some Algerian public institutions in the states of al-Taref and Annaba.

as well as identifying the degree of obstacles to women taking leadership, in addition to revealing the degree.

the descriptive approach was relied upon and a sample of (84) leading women was selected.

a questionnaire on the obstacles to women's leadership positions was applied to them by the researcher.

after the data were collected, statistical treatments were conducted through the social sciences statistical package (SPSS) version (23).

the study found the following findings: monitoring a high degree of barriers to women's assumption of leadership positions, there are no statistically significant differences in the degree of barriers to women holding leadership positions depending on the changing civil status and the changing level of education.

one of the most prominent suggestions of the study was the need for in-depth studies to diagnose the reality of women leaders and the most important features and abilities to be provided for the well-deserved practice of leadership behaviour.
