Abstract EN

This research aims to: Study and analyze a verse in the book of Allah- most High most Majestic- in which was disputed and differed upon.

the verse is “A male fornicator would only marry a female fornicator or idolatress” (Sura An-Nour:3); Because attributing Nikah in this Ayah to lawful marriage does not serve the context of mentioning idolator and idolatress.

And, referring Nikah to sexual-intercourse isn’t compatible with other hadiths which explains the relevance to this Ayah, as this dispute stems from the Quran interpreter’s different interpretations in explaining the word Nikah, whether it means contract or sexual- intercourse, and whether the verse initially meant to be as a predicate or as in prohibition? Moreover, it was of importance to study the opinions of the interpreters in the verse, as well as collecting, relating, processing, and elaborating on those given opinions; to reach a conclusion which is closer to nuanced and more precise one to reveal Allah’s reason of revelation.
