Abstract EN

This research aims to shed light on the concept of intent or intentionality in the light of cognitive pragmatics, presenting and studying the concept with its application with this description on selected models from the poetry of Muhammad Bin Hazem Al-Bahili, as intentionality contributes to shaping the meaning in the sayings, and to the interpretation of the recipient thereof; interpretation depends on it, especially when we mean more than we say.

the ancients and moderns took great care of intent, and the result of this care was the establishment of a theory of intent.

the concept of intentionality was introduced into the analysis of linguistic phrases and understanding the speech of the speaker by philosophers such as (Late Wittgenstein, Austin, Grace, Strasson, Searle).

the application came to selected texts from Arabic poetry, although they were few due to the narrowness of the research papers, but they indicated what we wanted to clarify through them.
