Abstract EN

This research seeks to stop at the poetry of lamentation, and to dive into its deep sea, and to extract the hidden and precious essence, which was issued by Arab poets, mentioned in the book (dictionary of women poets in pre-Islamic times and Islam) collected and verified by (Abdul Muhanna), which is a serious attempt to read poetry women in the ancient literary text (poetry).

the number of their verses in this book reached (1482) in which the woman expressed her affliction in the loss of her father, brother, husband, son, lover, cities, and the battle-killed of her people.

perhaps we are not exaggerating if we say that women are more honest than men in this field, as their lament is distinguished, especially by the warmth of feelings and anguish over loss, more than what we see among Arab (male) poets, and Muhammad Zaghloul justified this in his saying:; because they have braver hearts, softer hearts, and less patience." the lamentation is an immortalization of historical events and influential personalities in the history of the Arabs.
