Violence is one of the phenomena that accompanies women in all stages of their lives, from birth to adulthood, with multiple images and forms such as beatings, forced marriage, and denial of many rights such as their right to education, economic independence, as well as the sexual assaults they are subjected to.

There are many entities that practice violence againSl women, which is practiced on them by their families, or by society, whether in the street or in the workplace, or by the Slate through its negative discriminatory agencies or laws, and they may be exposed to it by the parties to the conflict in situations of armed conflict.

Which is more severe and more stressful on her, given the rape, sexual exploitation and other forms of violence she may face.

The international community has taken an advanced Step in the field of protecting women from violence, represented by the establishment of international judicial mechanisms that have the ability and effectiveness to address the phenomenon of violence againSl women.

Some of them are of a civil nature, represented by the European Court of Human Rights, which contributed to providing protection for women from violence through its advanced procedures that facilitated direct individual access to it, in addition to its mandatory jurisdiction.

As for the second type, it is of a punitive nature represented by the International Criminal Court, which was established in 1998 and whose Statute provides for the criminalization of acts of violence againSl women.
