Abstract EN

One of the several judgements used by critics to identify the situation of hadith narrators is (well-known), they express it by saying: (mash’hur al hadith: his hadiths are well known).

Critics also used it to judge the hadiths, whether it was a judgement on the sanad (chain of narration) or the matn (text), or both, they express it by saying: (hadith mash’hur-a well-known hadith), (isnad mash’hur-a well-known chain of narration), or (ma’anahu mash’hur-its meaning is well known).

Hence, I chose to study the judgment of Bukhari on the narrators as (well-known), in his book «The Great History».

It has become apparent to me, as a result of my tracking and scrutiny, that eight narrators were classified as well-known by Bukhari, their situations varied in criticism and praise (al-Jarh wal ta’dil) but they all have one thing in common, which is, their narrations are rare.

Therefore, that is what I explained with in-depth analysis as a result of my research.
