Abstract EN

This paper aims at highlighting the importance of interdisciplinary studies that are becoming the real future of academic studies in universities and research centers.

first of all, I shed light on the concept of interdisciplinary, its history and some of the reasons of its emergence, then I review the roles played by interdisciplinary such as the production and incorporation of knowledge, complementarity and creativity of thinking.

furthermore I handle the importance of interdisciplinary in scientific research, and I focus especially on the reality of these studies in Arab universities and research centers.

at the end I conclude the obstacles that have prevented this type of contemporary studies despite the urgent need now days.
