Abstract EN

What has been revealed to the Messenger Mohammed WP (PBUH) of Quranic Suras and (ayas) verses in Mecca, be- fore Hijra, is regarded Meccan.

Such suras and verses have their pe- culiar characteristics which distinguish them from Medinan ones, where its focus was on devotional matters, the onness of Allah, belief in reward, punishment, judgment, and the Day of Doom as well as being a challenge to the rhetoric of Arabs.

Additionally, the signify battling the infidels with irrefutable argument, let alone the narration of stories of previous nations and their fate due to their abandonment of the worshiping Allah (the almighty).

These suras and verses were revealed to the Noble Messenger (PBUH) who was in a critical situation, because of the polytheists harassment of him.

He was accompanied by a small group of Muslims who did not dare challenge the power of Quraish represented by their polytheists; it was difficult for them to meet the Messenger Mohammed (PBUH) in fear of the wrath of polytheists of Quraish against them, except for some individuals who had a strong tribal support.

One of those people was Imam Ali bin Abi Talib (Pbuh) who was very close to the Messenger of Islam.

Imam Ali was one of the most prominent transmitters and interpreters of the Prophetic hadiths in addition to his influence on the interpretation of the Holy Quran being one the most prominent scholars in this field.

Hence comes the importance of Imam Ali as a transmitter of interpretation and being an inter- preter himself.

The current research study includes the answer to a number of methodological questions, like: What are the Meccan Suras in which At-Tabari relied on the interpretation of Imam Ali's narration, and what kind of interpretation transmitted through or issued by Imam Al (Pbuh)? What is the nature of the source of such narrations? What is the precedence of At-Tabaris book in transmittingthese narrations and the degree of his reliance on those narrations that were interpreted by Imam Ali? The current study has also touched upon some of the narrations due to their strangeness and being far away from logic.

In addition, they contradict the well-known scientific mentality of Imam Aki.

It has been clarified, throughout the present research, whether the narration he transmitted from Imam Ali was previously circulated or by At-Tabari alone through returning to the interpretations that preceded At-Tabari's one at the level of the two sides of the Islamic-conflice: the Sunnis and the Shiites.
