Abstract EN

The aim of the research is to identify the effect of an educational design with the Gerlak Wiley model in learning shag and scattering the ball skills of handball for students, and to identify the priority of the effect on learning the shag and scattering the ball skills of handball for students between the experimental and control group.

The researchers used the experimental approach by the experimental group and the control group designing with pre and post tests to suit the nature of the research.

The research population was determined by students of the fourth stage, University of Kerbala- College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, who numbered (110) distributed over (4 sections).

The researchers used the statistical program (SPSS) to process and extract data for the research.

The researchers concluded that the educational design by Gerlak Wiley model in learning the the shag and scattering the ball skills of handball for students has a great role in developing of the research sample.

The researchers recommended the necessity of adopting this model in teaching and learning other skills, and the necessity of introducing different visual display methods in the physical education lesson in order to view the parts of the movement in detail.
