Abstract EN

Seclusion in Islamic Sufi thought is a behavior and a way of striving for the soul, promoting it, and raising it on patience and obedience.

In this research, i dealt with the subject in two sections, where in the first section i dealt with the concept of seclusion: language and terminology, and its importance for Sufism, and in the second topic i shed light on: the conditions, principles and legitimacy of seclusion among the people of Sufism.

As for the limits of the research and its objectives, it is represented in the extrapolation of what was written by the great Sufis about "khilwa" and its importance and place for them, and that is why the research method was inductive and descriptive in general.

Among the most important results of the research are the following: seclusion is one of the main pillars of ancient and modern Sufis, who value it very much, and set many conditions and rules for it, and this is the one of the manifestations of obedience and personal effort for them, and they believe that one of its advantages is to reach the degree of disclosure and acquisition of knowledge and spiritual serenity and to obtain degrees.
