Abstract EN
Vocabulary size is an important variable that leads to fluency in language.
Thus, investigating the factors that boost vocabulary is paramount.
In relation to this, some researchers suggest that morphological awareness enhances vocabulary knowledge, whereas others suggest that there is no correlation between morphological awareness and vocabulary size.
This study investigated the correlation between these two variables, and investigated the difference between the analytic and synthetic ability in morphological awareness.
Fifty undergraduate students were recruited for this study.
Theresearch findings revealed that participants are significantly better in the analytic ability than synthetic ability in morphological awareness.
It was also found that there is no correlation between morphological awareness and vocabulary size.
