The research reviews the reality of data management in informatics institutions, specifically the Tikrit University Foundation as a research model, by conducting a survey of all departments and centers of the university presidency, and getting to know the opinion of the directors of departments and centers about the reality of data management.

The research also identifying the views of the employees of the departments and centers in the university who are working in the field of data management and diagnosing weaknesses that affect the quality of data and how to develop it.

The research concluded that the Tikrit University institution suffers from the following in the field of data management: 1.

The university, as an informational institution, does not depend on an approved data management system according to scientific and practical foundations that helps to take sound administrative, scientific and technical decisions.

2.

Weakness of the Tikrit university Presidency staff (research sample) working in the field of data management and the weakness of overcoming the difficulties they face.

3.The inefficiency of the hardware and software used in the field of data management in order to achieve the speed of storing, processing and retrieving data, and preserving it from damage and loss.
