Literary techniques are the tools of a skilled writer, who uses them to express his feelings and thoughts along with hidden meanings, which in this way increases the impact of the meaning of the literary text on the recipient.

this research tries to analyze the most prominent literary techniques in the poetry of "Anwar Salman" through the descriptive-analytical method in order to interpret the imagination of the inventor in creating beautiful images, to interpret his inner feelings towards the realities of his society, the difficult conditions in which his countrymen lived during the war years, or his feelings about love for the country and women.

among the literary techniques that are most used in the poetry of "Anwar Salman," simile, metaphor, irony, and imagery are mentioned.

after examining the literary techniques in our poet's poetry, it can be seen that simile and irony are the most used, and these two play an important role in showing the goals and thoughts of "Anwar Salman" as much as possible.
