Abstract EN

This research presents a theoretical study on a very important part of how the Salaf explained the Sunnah, and it is the explanation by the Sahabah-may Allah be pleased with them-of the uncommon words found in the sunnah (Gareeb al-alFath an-Nabatiyeh).

and there is no doubt that this topic carries a lot of weight due to the knowledgeable position of the Sahabah with regards to Arabic, linguistic specifics, knowing the objectives of words within the Sunnah, and their experience of living through the revelation.

this research presents the explanation by the Sahabah of the Gareeb al-alFath an-Nabatiyeh in terms of importance and concept, it uncovers their various sources in explaining these prophetic words, and it shows how far the explanation of the Sahabi is used as evidence by the Linguists and scholars, and the effect of that on linguistics and Ghareeb al- Hadeeth.

the research also touches on the methods used by the Sahabah in explaining the prophetic terms whether by way of declaration or acknowledgement, and it reveals their ways in explaining the prophetic words in terms of their indication.

it also describes the extent to which such an explanation can be used as evidence, and the conditions of adding to their explanations.
