Abstract EN

This study aims to re-read traditional Arabic texts whilst applying contemporary principles.

I have been interested in customarily studying movement verbs and searching for their spatial and temporal inferences (bodies and range) through Badi al-Zaman's conception of movement and employment in his stories (Magamat).

for he uses the verb in its original meaning, or he takes it out of its original meaning towards a metaphorical explanation depending on the context, which in turn provides the verb with intense mobility and meaning both original and metaphorical.

this is the reason i decided to choose this text which is rich with movement verbs as opposed to another text.

and given the nature of the approach that I have chosen this study will cover both semantic and customary areas.
