Abstract EN

Research title: A Method of Reconciling the Meanings of the Successive Readings of the Quran: Its value and Its applicability (A Scientific Perspective).

Research topic: the successive readings of the Quran whose meanings differed, and the method of reconciling these meanings.

Research purpose: To establish a moderate method to show the difference in the meanings of the various readings of the Quran.

The research followed a selective descriptive method, by choosing specific words–as examples– for several types of the different successive readings of the Quran, trying to find out the rationale behind their difference.

The difference in meaning of two readings-without contradicting one another-is considered as an evidence of the miracle of the Quran, because the difference in the two readings in one verse, obviates the revelation of a new verse in the sense that each reading carries, which can be called: the miracle in brevity.

By following the method of reconciling the meanings of the two Quranic readings of those selected verses, some of the secrets of their difference were revealed, and their benefit became clear.

The research has found that the difference in the readings of the Quran doesn’t lead to contradiction; nevertheless, it has resulted in adding an extra meaning wanted by Allah Almighty, and that meaning was reached by a slight change in some words and letters, and that is one of the signs of the miracle of the Quran.

The research recommended that the researchers adopt the method of reconciling the meanings of the readings, as it is a correct scientific method, that enables us to extract the meanings of the readings of the Quran and to show their wonder, and to support the method of transfer developed by our righteous predecessors.
