Abstract EN

This study addresses the concept of «Intikath» (retreat) by attempting to establish the term into its related contextual framework in which it represents the cornerstone.

As there are very few studies about ‘Intikath’, the term is chosen purposefully to shed light on its meaning and use.

Subsequent to the theoretical approach، the «Intikath» major components including support, predicate and returning after retreating were addressed and illustrated.

This was conducted through analyzing and explaining evidence from the Qur’an, and Arabic literature, to clarify the pertinence of interpreting «Intikath» in the corpus of standard linguistic levels.
