This descriptive study aimed to know the role of the use of social media in the emergence of social isolation within the Algerian family from the parents' point of view.

where the researcher selected an intentional sample of 30 individuals (father and mother) from the city of Douera in Algeria, and to achieve the objectives of the research and data collection and processing, the interview and the statistical program (SPSS: 26) were used, where the study found the following: 43.33% of respondents believe that their children are characterized by intensive use of social networking sites.

more than 53% confirmed that their children do not share the family's communicative habits.

-50% believe that the use of social media has reduced communication between them and their children.

based on these findings, social networking sites plays a key role in creating social isolation within the Algerian family.
