Today, there is a vast development in artefacts and industries where gold and silver are used widely and in different forms.

One of the most common practices is plating with gold and silver.

Therefore, we need to know the Fiqhi precepts related to gold/ silver-plated materials and applying scholars’ opinions on today’s practices.

The definition of plated materials is presented linguistically and technically, showing the most common methods of plating with gold and silver today, including electric plating, the ruling of plating ceilings of houses and mosques with gold or silver as well as the Holy Book cover.

The paper also dealt with the precepts of using gold/ silver- plated pots and tools, the precept of wearing gold and silver by men, Zakah of gold/ silver-plated materials, and the relation of usury to trading gold/ silver-plated materials.
