The strategic location of Lebanon as a gateway to the middle east region towards the west has made it a direct target for the colonial forces sectarian diversity facilitated the task of the west to implement its sectarian projects, as it led to the terrible metaphors that occurred during the nineteenth century between 1840-1860.

which took place between the Maronites and the Druze, and it is worth mentioning that the social nature of mount Lebanon is the religious coloration where Muslims and Christians used to live, as well as other sects, so these sects received external support from European countries, as they became enjoying some privileges that preferred them over the rest of the states.

after that, Lebanon witnessed many local conflicts that reflected the nature of the sectarian conflict there and the west took advantage of this to serve their interests in Lebanon.
