The international arena has recently witnessed a remarkable interest in the concept of decent work, for providing good working conditions that promote sustainable development.

the Egyptian labor market suffers from many problems that hinder the achievement of decent work standards, including its weak flexibility and rigidity in the face of crises; whether external or internal, inconsistency of education outputs with requirements of the labor market, sectoral imbalances in wage rates, and inconsistency of the legislative and institutional framework for labor market and its bias towards government sector.

the official indicators of decent work in Egypt issued by (CAPMAS) indicated that decent work indicators are achieved to some extent in public and government sectors compared to private sector.

the experiences of Nepal and India in decent work indicated the importance of providing social security for all workers, integrating the broader informal sector into the framework of social dialogue, providing an adequate database for informal organizations, aligning government policies with the decent work agenda, reviewing many laws and legislation related to decent work.
