This paper discusses the problems that arise from the different ways of reciting the Qur'an, particularly what is related to reciting the phrase "and your feet" (Qur'an 5 : 6) in the genitive case, illustrating the intricacies of this recitation and the possibilities of "wiping" over the feet according to this recitation.

Among the most important aims of this paper are the following : A.

Showing the justification of wiping over the feet, if the phrase is recited using the genitive case.

B.

Reviewing the Prophet's hadiths that explain the verse of ablution and expounding the meaning of the phrase when recited in the genitive case.

Finally, the most important findings include: A.

The two ways of reciting the verse are not in contradiction.

B.

"wiping linguistically and technically includes both dry wiping or washing.

The intended meaning is determined contextually in the Qur'an, Hadiths and the practices of the Prophet's companions.
