Her writing style exerts amassive impact on American literature up until nowadays.

Part of the reasonwhy Dickinson has gained an immense popularity in American literature, is hergloomy and melancholic style; often invoking themes of death and the afterlife.

First of all, the author will attempt to highlight Dickinson's poetic languagefrom a stylistic perspective.

Second, the present article will offer an appliedstylistic critical study of Dickinson's writing style in general, and of her famouspoem “I Heard a Fly Buzz when I Died” in particular.
