Abstract EN

The current research aims to find out the extent to which the biology book of third intermediate grade includes the mentality skills in the light of the Marzano model, which required the researcher to prepare the analytical tool represented by a list of Mental skills according to Marzano's classification .

The analysis tool was made up of (8) basic skills and (21) Sub-skill with the indicators to indicate them, which by it the biology book was analyzed for the class for the third intermediate grade students for the academic year 2020-2021.

The researcher used the descriptive approach (content analysis) and relied on the explicit and implicit idea as a registration unit, and one of its findings is that the ratio of including mental skills in a science book were not equal, where the skill of organizing got the highest number of repetitions were it got (175) repeatedly and by a percentage (41.9<%), followed by the analysis skill were it got (141) repeats and by a percentage (33.81%), followed by the obstetric skill where it got (38) repeatedly and by a percentage of (9.11%), followed by the skill of gathering information it got (32) repeatedly and by a percentage of (<.67%), followed by the skill of the evaluation where it got (26) repeatedly by a percentage (6.23%), followed by integration skill with (3) repeats and a percentage (0.71%), followed by the remembering skill that got the lowest number of repetitions where it got (2) repetitions and a percentage (0.4=%), while the skill of focusing did not get a total inclusion rate.

In the light of these findings, the researcher submitted a number of recommendations and suggestions: The need to balance the distribution of mental skills in the content of the book biology for the intermediate grade.
