Abstract EN

This research aims to know the effect of using the strategy model (Ade and Shire) in the collection and retention of social material among first-grade students in the middle school.In her experimental research procedures, the researcher relied on theexperimental design with partial control.

The researcher chose first-grade average students from the (al-Mustafa) Intermediate School for Boys of the Second Rusafa Education Directorate for the academic year (2020-2021) as a sample for her research in order to conduct her experiment in it.The sample consisted of (54) students who were chosen randomly, with (32) students of the experimental group that studied according to the (Addy and Shire) strategy, and (22) students of the control group that studied according to the traditional method.

The researcher made equivalencies between the students of the two research groups, and the researcher formulated the behavioral goals, which amounted to (150) goals, then she prepared teaching plans in order to achieve the goals that were formulated, which amounted to (20) teaching plans for each group, as the researcher studied the two research groups by herself throughout the duration of the experiment.She prepared a post-achievement test consisting of (40) multiple-choice objective items, which she applied to the two research groups, and then re-applied the same test after (21) days had passed in order to measure retention of achievement.After the end of the experiment and conducting the achievement and retention tests, the researcher collected the data and analyzed it statistically, using the t-test for two independent samples, t-test.

The research resulted in a set of conclusions and recommendations.
