لاشك أن دراسة الشخصيات التاريخية والكتابة عنها على قدر كبير من الأهمية لما لهذه الشخصيات من تأثر وتأثير في التاريخ، أن مفهوم الإصلاح أصبح عند المتنورين العرب يعني إصلاح الولايات العربية تحديدا في نطاق السلطنة العثمانية أولا ومن ثم بعدها بالاستقلال عنها ثانيا، عندما وضع مصير السلطنة موضع الشك، وعندما بات الإصلاح العثماني غير مؤكد، فتح الباب لإعادة الاعتبار للأمة العربية، وتذكير العرب بماضيهم المجيد و ظهور فكرة القومية، وهنا ظهر مصطلح النهضة بدلا عن الإصلاح، تأثرا بالثورة الفرنسية التي كانت احدى عوامل ظهور النهضة العربية من حيث المضمون و انطلاقا من تلك المحاولات الفكرية التي قادها المفكرون العرب لتغيير الأوضاع في البلاد العربية وتجاوز مرحلة الانحطاط والتدهور من هنا كان سبب اختبار الباحث لهذا الموضوع لتناول واحد من أهم الرواد الذين ساهموا في بلورة الفكر العربي الحديث، وما هي أهم المشاريع التقدمية والأفكار الفلسفية المطروحة من قبله لتغيير أحوال البلاد العربية، فكان رفاعة رافع الطهطاوي من صناع الفكر العربي والاسلامي الحديث، واهتمت هذه الدراسة بالتركيز على آرائه في التربية والتعليم ليكون موضوع البحث هذا لأهمية هذا الموضوع الحيوي والمهم والاخذ بأسباب التقدم، وكما ايضا لأهمية الطهطاوي ومكانته في النهضة العربية وتمجيدا لجهوده المبذولة في التربية والتعليم خاصة .
قسم البحث الى ثلاثة مباحث ومقدمة وخاتمة، كان عنوان المبحث الأول : رفاعة رافع الطهطاوي حياته ونشأته وجاء المبحث الثاني بعنوان التربية والتعليم في كتابات رفاعة رافع الطهطاوي والمبحث الثالث: موقف رفاعة رافع الطهطاوي من تعليم المرأة وجهوده في تطوير التعليم وبث الروح الوطنية وموقفه من تعليم المرأة .
وقد اعتمدت الرسالة على مجموعة من المصادر المهمة ذات العلاقة بموضوع البحث والتي افادته بالمعلومات المهمة والدقيقة ولعل ابرزها ما قام بجمعه الأستاذ الدكتور محمد عماره من أعمال للمفكر رفاعة رافع الطهطاوي أمين وحيث افاد البحث من هذه الأعمال الكاملة كونها جمعت أغلب ما ألفه وكتبه الطهطاوي في حياته فكانت خير معين لي في الكتابة في هذا الموضوع، حيث تمت الإفادة منها في اغلب المباحث، كما كان لكتاب البرت حوراني: الفكر العربي في عصر النهضة ۱۷۹۸ ۱۹۳۹ وكذلك كتاب المؤرخ الأردني على محافظة: الاتجاهات الفكرية عند العرب في عصر النهضة ۱۷۹۸-۱۹۱ حيث زود البحث بالمعلومات والتحليلات المهمة في مجال التربية والتعليم عند رفاعة الطهطاوي، كما استفاد البحث من بعض كتب التراجم للتعرف على حياة بعض الشخصيات الواردة في ثنايا البحث خاصة في الهوامش وكان في مقدمة الكتب المفيدة في هذا المجال عبد الرحمن بدوي، موسوعة المستشرقين التي أفادت البحث بالتعريف بالشخصيات المهمة.
وأيضا كتاب جمال الدين الشيال، رفاعة الطهطاوي زعيم النهضة الفكرية في عصر محمد علي و معن زيادة معالم على طريق تحديث الفكر العربي وغيرها من المصادر المهمة .

There is no doubt that the study of historical figures and writing about them is of great importance because of the influence and influence of these figures in history, that the concept of reform has become for the Arab Illuminati means the reform of the Arab states a challenge within the scope of the Ottoman Sultanate first and then independence from it second, when the fate of the Sultanate was put into doubt, and when the Ottoman reform became uncertain, opened the door to rehabilitate the Arab nation, and remind the Arabs of their glorious past and the emergence of the idea of nationalism, and here appeared the term renaissance Instead of reform, influenced by the French revolution, which was one of the factors of the emergence of the Arab renaissance in terms of content and based on those intellectual attempts led by Arab thinkers to change the situation in the Arab countries and overcome the stage of degeneration and deterioration from here was the reason why the researcher chose this topic to address one of the most important pioneers who contributed to the crystallization of modern Arab thought, and what are the most important progressive projects and philosophical ideas put forward by him to change the conditions of the Arab countries, so Rifa Rafi al-Tahtawy From the makers of Arab and Islamic thought Hadith, and this study was interested in focusing on his views in education to be the subject of this research for the importance of this vital and important topic and taking into account the reasons for progress, as well as for the importance of Tahtawy and his place in the Arab renaissance and glorification of his efforts in education in particular.
The research was divided into three sections, an introduction and a conclusion, the title of the first section : Rifa Rafi al-Tahtawy his life and upbringing and the second section came entitled Education in the writings of Rifa Rafi al-Tahtawy and the third section : Rifa Raff al-Tahtawi's position on women's education and his efforts in developing education and spreading the national spirit and his position on women's education.
