Abstract EN

The current research aims at identify the family climate of university students.

As well as identifying the statistically significant differences in the level of family climate in university students according to gender (males/females).To achieve the objectives of the research, the researcher has built a family climate scale where the number of its items in its final form consists of (32) items distributed over the four emotional family climate domains: (9) items of emotional, (6) items of social, (8) items of interaction, (9) items of needs.

After ascertaining the accuracy of the psychometric characteristics of the research scale and its items, which are (32) items of the family climate scale, the research scale has administered to the application sample, which is (400) male and female students who are chosen by the stratified random method.

The data is analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences SPSS and the results showed the following: With regard to identifying the family climate, the university students are generally characterized by a good family climate despite the psychological pressures and the difficulties of daily social life due to what our Iraqi society in general is going through at this stage.

There is no difference according to gender in the family climate among university students because all students go through the same circumstances.
