A genre analysis of literature books blurbs

Abstract EN

This study deals with book blurbs as a promotional genre.

It aims at identifying the generic structure of book blurbs in terms of moves.

In addition, identifying the linguistic and what kinds of lexogramatical features are used in literature book blurbs.

Data for the current study are collected from sixteen literature book blurbs in four different disciplines involving (Novel, Drama, Poetry, and Literature).

These data are analyzed based on Gea velor (2005) classifications of generic structure in terms of moves and linguistic features.

The analysis of the data yields the following conclusions: literature Books blurbs are structured in to different moves include evaluative, descriptive and about the author.
