al-Aqqad's book “poets of Egypt and their environments in the previous generation,” is considered one of the books that have significantly enriched the contemporary critical field.

al-Aqqad follows a critical approach that focuses on the impact of the environment on the literary output of a class of poets from this generation.

this study, hence, attempts to trace this critical approach, highlight its critical dimensions, identify its characteristics, and shed light on the views expressed in his book “poets of Egypt and their environments in the previous generation”.

furthermore, it aims to explore the impact of the environment on the works and creativity of these poets.
