The current research aims to identify illness anxiety disorder among the elderly and its prevalence rate and to identify the significance of statistical differences according to the sex variable (males - females) for the diagnosed sample.

(DSM_5)، and the number of paragraphs of the scale was (22)، and after verifying its psychometric properties of honesty، stability and discrimination، it was applied to the sample of (400) retirees، which was chosen by the stratified random method for th yea(2022-2022)the results were as follows:The prevalence of illness anxiety disorder is 16% among the elderly with (45) males (22) females، There are no statistically significant differences in illness anxiety disorder according to gender (male-female).
