The Algerian legislator has kept pace with climate and environmental issues since independence and ratified the united nations framework convention on climate change, approved by the united nations general assembly on may 9 1992.

the study aims to clarify the constitutional treatment of climate change in light of the environmental rights associated with sustainable development.

through the study, we can reach the results.

we mention some of them including the constitutionalization of climate change in the constitutional amendment of 2020, the explicit and direct constitutional recognition of climate change, linking climate and environmental security with sustainable development, and the effects of the constitutional amendment were legal and practical in the field of climate change.
