Combatting corruption has become a necessity for all countries in an effort to tackle the phenomenon, the Algerian legislature enacted a dedicated law to combat corruption crimes this law introduced new offenses while abolishing existing ones additionally, it initiated a series of reforms at both institutional and legislative levels, establishing the economic and financial judiciary pole under decree No 20-04 as a judicial entity to adjudicate economic crimes, including corruption.

these crimes are distinctive in terms of investigation and punishment compared to other offenses, as they involve public funds and hinder economic progress.
