The general aim of this study is to investigate the professional identity of psychologists in the public healthcare sector, as well as their level of awareness of it, among a sample of psychologists in the public healthcare sector in the state of.

to achieve this, a field study was conducted in the hospitals of Laghouat to answer the following questions: what is the level of awareness of professional identity among psychologists in the public healthcare sector? are there differences in the level of awareness of professional identity among psychologists in the public healthcare sector based on their educational qualifications? are there differences in the level of awareness of professional identity among psychologists in the public healthcare sector based on their experience? to answer these questions, a descriptive approach was used, employing a questionnaire distributed to a sample of 53 psychologists in the hospitals.

in conclusion, it was found that the level of awareness of professional identity is high among psychologists in the public healthcare sector.

however, there were no statistically significant differences in the level of awareness of professional identity related to educational qualifications or years of experience for psychologists in the public healthcare sector.
