This research studies the analytical mechanisms in al-Ghathami's critical discourse to reveal the problems that accompanied with these mechanisms in his cultural criticism practice.

these problems lie in al-Ghathami's attempt to isolate the text from its context, then isolate the reader from the context of the studied text.

as well as in some of the projections that are inserted into texts, then in the unfair selection mechanism to transform what is private and limited into a general phenomenon, and in relying on interpretations that serve the critic's goals more than it's adhesion to the text.

the research concluded that al-Gathami's cultural criticism depends on the text and its analysis in order to reach the hidden systems that this new criticism boasts of revealing.

that is, cultural criticism is the goal, and the text is a means to achieve this goal.
