According to its content, this article reviews a brief cognitive conception of the idea of dignity from the perspective of the moral philosophy of contemporary Canadian thinker Charles Taylor, raising several fundamental conceptual problems and questions first to analyze and illustrate its potential meanings, and another historical rooting that examines the motives and reasons behind the genesis of this discourse and its formation in western civilization.
