The current research aimed to identify the cognitive beliefs of university students.

The two researchers translated the cognitive beliefs scale prepared by (Schumer) from (50) items distributed over four domains (the domain of learning ability consists of 13 items، the domain of simple knowledge consists of 13 items، the domain of stability The knowledge consists of 12 items، the learning speed domain consists of 12 items) and the answer alternatives were five alternatives in front of each item which are (totally agree، somewhat agree، agree، disagree، somewhat disagree، totally disagree)، and these were given to these The alternatives score upon correction (5، 4، 3، 2، 1)، respectively.

The psychometric properties of the scale were verified، as the apparent validity and construction validity of the scale’s paragraphs were extracted، as well as the stability extracted by the re-test method.

(0.79), and the scale was applied in its final form on a sample of (400) male and female students from Al-Mustansiriya University who were selected by the stratified random method.

After completing the application، the data was processed statistically and resulted in the following results: That the sample members have cognitive beliefs، regardless of their gender and specialization, Based on these results، a set of recommendations and proposals were formulated.
