Abstract AR
Abstract EN
That the Chinese people do not exclusively belong to a single religious and doctrinal system, instead, they adopt diverse religious practices and beliefs, which includes: Confucianism, Buddhism, Taoism, and the folk religion under which much of the Chinese people reside.
however, these religions, despite their diversity, do not believe that their followers have the exclusive possession of religious and spiritual truth, and they all aim to serve man and make him happy by refining his morals and social behavior.
it is important to point out that Confucius and Lao Tzu, the founders of Confucianism and Taoism, never claimed to be gods or messengers from God, but rather sages and philosophers, but the Chinese society turned them into religions.
this study aims to present the most important doctrines and philosophies of the ancient Chinese religious: Confucianism and Taoism.
one of the most important results of this study is that the concept of religion in Taoism and Confucianism is markedly different from the concept of the scriptural religions, even if the metaphysical aspects are not eliminated, the intense presence of man and interaction with his cosmic environment overwhelms the invisible.
