this right cannot be guaranteed and secured unless it is surrounded by mechanisms and techniques that guarantee the integrity of the choice and avoid its falsification.

oversight of the electoral process provides legitimacy to the authority through acknowledgment of the integrity of the elections and the validity and credibility of its results, whether it is local or international oversight.

however, on the other hand, international oversight represents an infringement on the sovereignty of the state when it goes beyond the tasks of collecting and analyzing information and avoiding abuses to influencing the voters’ orientations and anticipating the call of the state in question.
