Abstract EN

The study aimed to know the relationship between psychological hardiness and therapeutic compliance among patients with renal failure at Hani Mohamed Belhadi hospital in Messaad (Algeria), also to identify the level of both psychological hardiness and therapeutic compliance among the study sample, and also to know the differences in the level of both psychological hardiness and therapeutic compliance among the sample.

the study was based on demographic variables (gender, age, duration of illness), to achieve the objectives of the study, we applied the study tools, which were the psychological hardiness scale prepared by Mekheimar (2002) and codified in the Algerian environment by Maamria (2011), and the therapeutic compliance scale that was designed by Rizki (2012) with the aim of measuring therapeutic compliance in patients with renal failure chronic.

a purposive sample of patients with renal failure was selected, consisting of (14) patients and we used the descriptive approach.

the results showed that the level of psychological hardiness is moderate, while the level of therapeutic compliance is high among patients with renal failure.

it was also found that there is no statistically significant correlation between psychological hardiness and treatment compliance among patients with renal failure, there is no correlation between the dimensions of the psychological hardiness scale (commitment-control-challenge) and therapeutic compliance.

also, there are no statistically significant differences among the study sample members in the level of both psychological hardiness and treatment compliance due to the variables: (gender-age-duration of illness).
