The concept of meaning differed among the ancients, sometimes it meant the mental image of external beings, and other times the intention and third the concept.

As for the meaning among the modernists, we almost find it difficult to define it, as we fall between it and another term used by most of them with the same concept, which is (the indication ).

As they were divided into three groups, some of them went to say that the two terms were synonymous, and some of them saw that the meaning is broader than the indication, and another group thinks the opposite.

They have every indication that includes a meaning, and not every meaning includes indication , so between them there is a general and a specific, and the meaning is divided into five sections, which are: the basic meaning, the additional meaning, the stylistic meaning, the psychological meaning, and the suggestive meaning.

Revelation is an indirect meaning that has something of ambiguity that returns to a store of relationships whose function is to influence and it is part of the indication and its most prominent connections : metaphor, analogy, metonymy, and pun.
