Abstract EN

This study aims to uncover a branch from interpretive branches who did not receive the necessary attention from researchers in the field of koranic studies, mainly stopping according to the interpreters.

in this study, the researcher will address the definition of stopping and indicate the most prominent formulas and methods according to the interpreters while quickly passing to the predecessors’ position concerning stopping in interpretation, as well as the reasons for the interpreter to stop, with a brief explanation followed by representation of each of the interpretation books.

after tracking and extrapolation, it became clear that stopping has four reasons: stopping at what only Allah knows, stopping at conflicting evidence and not having a weighting aspect for the interpreter to tip the balance of one saying over the other, stopping because of weak evidence, and stopping because of the lack of evidence for the interpreter.
