Abstract EN

The current study aims to know the level of self-esteem of the criminal and the nature of discrepancy and difference in light of the variables (type of charge, nature of habitually, self-mutilation or not, then the level of education) among the perpetrators themselves.

the sample of the study included 74 criminals from the institutions of the judicial council of SidiBel Abbes, and the self-esteem list of cooper smith was used as a tool for the study and the from for collecting data and information.

the results concluded that there are no differences in terms of the level of self-esteem due to the variables of the type of charge (felony misdemeanor), and the nature of habituation (primary, relapsing), while there are differences in terms of the level of self-esteem due the variables of self-mutilation in favor of the non-distorted, and there is a discrepancy due to the variable educational level in favor of undergraduates.
