Forged or copied icons?: the icons of the church of the dormition in aleppo

There is very little information about forged icons in Syria.

However, at least one icon, in the Church of the Dormition in Aleppo City, is archived as "probably a forged icon" and other icons in Lebanese private collections are probably in this case.

Six icons were studied to ascertain whether they were forgeries painted to replace original icons.
